One of the reasons cells begin to age is because of environmental toxins, or free radicals. These free radicals begin to oxidize inside the body. By ingesting foods that contain antioxidants you can reverse cellular aging. Some foods with high levels of antioxidants include berries, broccoli, garlic, and walnuts. Try and add one or more of these foods to your meals every day. Another way to fight aging is by keeping up your muscle mass. As we age, muscle mass begins to decline and fat mass begins to increase. By incorporating exercise into your day you can prevent this aspect of aging. More importantly, making sure to include weight-bearing exercise (lifting weights) into your work out routine helps to maintain bone strength that also begins to decline with age.
