23andMe Bankruptcy announcement
As of March 2025, 23andMe posted an open letter regarding bankruptcy filing and the pending sale of the company. Naturally, patients have asked for our thoughts on this matter and the security of their DNA records. Because we have recommended this test to our patients in the past, we also want to share this update with you. If you have, or if you know someone who has, used this genetic testing service, you may find this helpful.

Step 5: Deleting your account will delete data for ALL profiles.
Clicking the data delete button is only a request. 23andMe will send an email to the address linked to your 23andMe account asking you to confirm your request. Make sure you confirm via your email, or your job is not done!
What’s Next? Have you heard of 3×4 Genetics?
Our search for a more secure company with more comprehensive reporting led us to discover 3x4genetics.com. 3X4 Genetics focuses on genetics involving pathways and functions of the body, not actual risk factors for medical conditions such as cancers.
We prefer 3X4 Genetics because of how they categorize genes into pathways. Examples include detoxification, inflammation, methylation, memory and brain health, glucose and insulin, histamine overload, hormone balance, cholesterol, or particular nutrients such as choline or B12. This feature of the 3X4 Genetics test allows us to focus on our patient’s individual and highest impact genes.
We believe testing genetics is a powerful tool in preventative health and management of chronic symptoms. We have our genes, but epigenetics is how and when genes are turned on or off. Once we know your individual DNA, we can make dietary, lifestyle, and supplement recommendations so you may feel your best!
Call our office today at 239-676-5249 if you’d like to learn more about your unique genes with the 3X4 Genetics test. Make sure you order through us at the same price. This gives us deeper access to clinical guides to help interpret your results. Learn more about this test here: https://3x4genetics.com/
